Taiwo Oshode scored one of the biggest goals of the MCAC men’s soccer season. The Canadian Mennonite University Blazer opened the scoring against the Brandon University Bobcats in the final, propelling his team to a 2-1 victory.

It took two challenging hours, but the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers are back on top of MCAC men’s soccer. CMU defeated Brandon University 2-1 in extra time in the championship game at the Healthy Living Centre on Sunday.
Les Rouges W'esuu named men's soccer player of the year

Musaka W’esuu has surely earned the respect of opposing attackers and coaches this season. The veteran defender for the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges helped the MCAC men’s soccer defending champions to a 6-5-1 record in a rebuilding year. W’esuu has been voted MCAC player of the year.

While the temperatures are dropping, Nicholas Pavao is heating up. The rookie midfielder from Canadian Mennonite University recorded two goals and two assists on the weekend as the Blazers closed the soccer regular season in second place.
Katembo named men's soccer coach of the year

Gode Katembo led a massive turnaround with the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers this year. The head coach took the team from a three-win season and the #4 seed to a 9-2-1 finish in the MCAC men’s soccer standings. Katembo is the MCAC men’s soccer coach of the year.

The Providence University College Pilots know how important defence is this time of year and Isaac Aman is stepping up. The fourth-year midfielder was vital as the Pilots allowed just two goals all weekend, gearing up for the playoffs.

T.J. Bodunrin has turned the Brandon University Bobcats' offence into a two-headed beast. The fourth-year striker has now scored in four straight games, including three goals in two wins this weekend.

Camilo Rodriguez quickly returned to his old ways on the weekend. The Brandon University Bobcats striker scored five goals in two games, both wins for his hometown team. Rodriguez is the MCAC male athlete of the week.
Holfeld named Male Athlete of the Week

Tristen Holfeld started the MCAC season with a statement. The second-year midfielder netted a hat trick in Canadian Mennonite University’s season-opening 4-0 win over Assiniboine College on Saturday. One day later, he scored a penalty in a 4-0 victory over Brandon University.

Les Rouges open the regular season on the road against the Providence University College Pilots on Saturday as the defending champions, who went the entire 2024-25 season without a loss in Manitoba.
