Goalkeeper Kane named athlete of the week

Moussa Kane stepped up when the Université de Saint-Boniface needed him most.
Les Rouges goalkeeper saved a penalty kick to preserve a one-goal lead and help them beat the Brandon University Bobcats 2-1 on Saturday.
Kane is the MCAC male athlete of the week.
"Moussa had a great season last year, and just got back to his starting spot recently having two great games this week," said USB coach Yahia Chihab.
"This Saturday against BU was a perfect game for him, making numerous saves and saving a penalty to keep us in the lead. I am happy with his progress as the goalkeeper is a big part of not only our defence but also in our build-up play."
Kane made eight saves in the game, improving Les Rouges to 3-2-1 after their 2-1 loss to Canadian Mennonite University on Wednesday.
Providence University College beat Assiniboine College 2-0 on Saturday and lost 2-1 to Brandon on Sunday.
AC lost 5-0 to CMU on Sunday.
This weekend, BU hosts CMU on Saturday at AC on Sunday.
USB hosts PUC on Saturday and AC on Sunday.
