Francis named male athlete of the week
Romaine Francis is back to his all-conference form.
The Canadian Mennonite University winger scored a hat trick in an 8-0 win over Assiniboine College on Saturday.
Francis is the MCAC male athlete of the week.
The fourth-year from Kingston, Jamaica also started in CMU's 2-0 loss to Brandon University on Sunday, the first time the Blazers have dropped points all season.
"Romaine had a fantastic game against Assiniboine, putting up a hat trick and an assist," said coach Gode Katembo. "What really stands out is his confidence on the ball and willingness to take on defenders one one-on-one. He's been a big difference maker for us again this year."
This week, CMU faces the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges at home on Wednesday night, then hosts Assiniboine College again on Sunday. The Bobcats visit Les Rouges on Saturday and the Providence University College Pilots on Sunday. AC hosts PUC on Saturday in the other game.
