Pavao named male athlete of the week

While the temperatures are dropping, Nicholas Pavao is heating up.
The rookie midfielder from Canadian Mennonite University recorded two goals and two assists on the weekend as the Blazers closed the soccer regular season in second place.
Pavao is the MCAC male athlete of the week.
"Nicholas has been exceptional, he plays with confidence, creates chances for his teammates, and isn't afraid to take responsibility in big moments. He's earning every bit of this recognition," said Blazers coach Gode Katembo.
Pavao scored to tie the game against the Université de Saint-Boniface on Saturday, then assisted on the winning goal as CMU won 3-2.
He added a goal and an assist with the Blazers down to 10 men in a 6-1 win over Providence University College.
The Blazers and Les Rouges face off once more in the semifinals on Saturday at Cougars Field in Brandon.
The Brandon University Bobcats host the Pilots in the other semifinal. Both games are at 2:30 p.m.
The final is on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Healthy Living Centre.
