Aman named male athlete of the week
The Providence University College Pilots know how important defence is this time of year and Isaac Aman is stepping up.
The fourth-year midfielder was vital as the Pilots allowed just two goals all weekend, gearing up for the playoffs.
Aman is the MCAC male athlete of the week.
"Isaac Aman played some of his best soccer games as a Pilot this weekend. He controls and dictates the game when in possession and is crucial is helping on the defensive side of the game as well," said Pilots coach Giovanni Benitez Friesen.
"Aman was crucial to us being able to play a strong game against CMU where we created lots of chances and were able to keep the pace of our game going for most of the game. Against AC, he was a menace in controlling the ball, keeping things moving, dribbling and creating the chances. He was rewarded with a goal in a game that was complicated by how well defensively sound the opponent was along with the weather conditions."
Aman scored the first of PUC's goals in a 2-0 victory over AC. He played the full game and kept the CMU attack quiet in a 2-2 draw.
The Pilots have three games left, on Thursday night against the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges, then Saturday against the Brandon University Bobcats and Sunday against the Blazers.
