Cougars capture first MCAC women's volleyball title

The Assiniboine College Cougars are Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference champions for the first time. The Cougars defeated the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers 3-0 to sweep the women’s volleyball championship series on home court.
Neufeld named women's volleyball coach of the year

Kevin Neufeld has taken the Assiniboine College Cougars to new heights. The longtime women’s volleyball coach took over at AC just a few years ago, turning a winless program into the top seed for this weekend’s championship series. Neufeld is the MCAC women’s volleyball coach of the year.
Lasuik named women's volleyball player of the year

Tyra Lasuik led the most powerful offence in MCAC women’s volleyball this season. The Assiniboine College Cougars setter averaged 7.68 assists per set while her team had a league-high .269 hitting percentage. Lasuik is the MCAC women’s volleyball player of the year.
Haj Hassan named female athlete of the week

Razan Haj Hassan stepped up big with the season on the line. The third-year middle recorded 25 kills and 13 blocks as the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges beat the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers twice to stay alive in the women’s volleyball playoff race.
Brost named female athlete of the week

Heather Brost put on back-to-back strong performances to lift the Assiniboine College Cougars into first place in the women’s volleyball standings. The third-year middle posted six kills in each victory over the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers.
Telega named female athlete of the week

Kyra Telega proved to be the boost the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges women’s volleyball team needed for their second-semester playoff push. The third-year left side recorded 27 kills on the weekend, including 16 in Saturday’s 3-2 win over the Providence University College Pilots. Telega is the MCAC female athlete of the week.
Peters named female athlete of the week

The Providence University College Pilots were in rare territory they didn’t want to be in. Tyra Peters helped them climb out of it. The fifth-year left side led the PUC women’s volleyball team to back-to-back wins, snapping a four-game losing streak that had them under .500 for the first time in a long time.
Falk named female athlete of the week

Sadie Falk is quickly finding form and making a big impact for the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges. The rookie left side posted 13 kills and three aces in Les Rouges big 3-2 victory over the first-place Canadian Mennonite University Blazers on Saturday.
Peake named female athlete of the week

Kylee Peake isn’t slowing down after her all-Canadian season. The Assiniboine College left side posted 21 kills and seven aces on the weekend, helping the Cougars women’s volleyball team to two wins.
Sawatzky named female athlete of the week

Julia Sawatzky is back as strong as ever for the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers. The third-year left side posted 25 kills and 24 digs during two wins over the Assiniboine College Cougars in her return from an injury that saw her miss last season.

The Providence University College Pilots are set for one of the most exciting seasons in program history. For the first time, they’ll host the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association women’s volleyball nationals, a year after the Pilots men welcomed the best CCAA teams in the nation to Niverville.
