Telega named female athlete of the week

Kyra Telega proved to be the boost the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges women's volleyball team needed for their second-semester playoff push.
The third-year left side recorded 27 kills on the weekend, including 16 in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Providence University College Pilots.
Telega is the MCAC female athlete of the week.
"Kyra had a very strong weekend in all phases of the game. She was dominant as an attacker and served hard all weekend," said Les Rouges coach Evan Turenne.
"Her consistency on serve receive and her vision on defence allowed us to be efficient in transition. It was great to see her find her groove so early in her return to game action.
It was Telega's first weekend eligible this season.
She recorded 10 digs and a block on Saturday, then had 11 kills, six digs and two aces on Sunday in a 3-1 loss to the Pilots.
Les Rouges host the Assiniboine College Cougars this Friday and Saturday, while the Pilots visit the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers.
