Pilots repeat as men's volleyball champions

The Providence University College Pilots knew they had to win two matches in one day and did just that. After dropping the first match of the men’s volleyball final to the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers, they came back to win the second one, then sweep the best-of-three third match 2-0 on home court on Sunday.
Ashfield named men's volleyball coach of the year

The Assiniboine College Cougars turned a rebuilding year into one of their most competitive seasons yet. Second-year head coach Dan Ashfield had a key role to play in it. Ashfield is the MCAC men’s volleyball coach of the year.
Doell named men's volleyball player of the year

Even though everyone knew Cole Doell was a key part of the Providence University College Pilots' offence, he was the most efficient attacker in MCAC men’s volleyball this season. The right side hitter led PUC to the top seed for the playoffs. Doell is the MCAC men’s volleyball player of the year.
Vanden Berg named male athlete of the week

Jesse Vanden Berg wants to stay home for the playoffs, and his Providence University College Pilots are now a win away from getting their wish. Vanden Berg compiled 28 kills during two key wins over the Assiniboine College Cougars, moving into solo first in the men’s volleyball standings.
Martens named male athlete of the week

Markus Martens delivered in a big match for the men’s volleyball playoff race on Saturday. The fifth-year middle blocker from Canadian Mennonite University racked up 11 kills and seven blocks in a 3-2 victory over Providence University College.
Berube named male athlete of the week

Nathaniel Berube saved his best weekend of the semester for the last one. The Assiniboine College Cougars outside hitter racked up 31 kills to help his team sweep the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges and head to the break tied for second place in the men’s volleyball standings.
Petrie named male athlete of the week

Duncan Petrie was as consistent as it gets on the weekend. The fifth-year right side from Canadian Mennonite University posted 15 kills and a .538 hitting percentage twice in a row, leading the Blazers to back-to-back wins.
Lemoine named male athlete of the week

David Lemoine helped the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges win a regular season match for the first time in more than a year. It wasn’t just any win; it was over the defending MCAC men’s volleyball champion Providence University College Pilots.
