Szmon named female athlete of the week

Lindsey Szmon gave the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges reason to enter this week with confidence.
The third-year goalkeeper helped her team to a 1-1 draw against the high-flying Providence University College Pilots and a 2-0 win over the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers this week.
Szmon is the MCAC female athlete of the week.
"Lindsey has been fantastic all season. She has really stepped up this season, and heading into the last week of the regular season has been key to our defensive organization," said Les Rouges head coach Tonya Derkson.
Szmon saved a penalty shot to preserve the draw on Thursday.
The Pilots and Les Rouges face off once more in the semifinals on Saturday at Cougars Field in Brandon.
The Brandon University Bobcats host the Blazers in the other semifinal. Both games are at noon.
The final is on Sunday at noon at the Healthy Living Centre.
