Medeiros named female athlete of the week

Hayley Medeiros played a pivotal role in one of the most dominant weekends of the MCAC season, on both ends of the pitch.
Medeiros scored four goals while her Providence University College Pilots allowed zero, collecting six points in two games.
Medeiros is the MCAC female athlete of the week.
"Hayley had a fantastic weekend with two solid performances. With a heavy offensive weekend, scoring a combined 23 goals and
conceding zero, offence was something that came early and often for us," said Pilots coach Tory Walker.
"Hayley, though, was one of the players who continued to stick with our good habits. She continued to press and defend well in both matches. She was a threat and playmaker each game and is the type of player who often goes unnoticed. Hayley's work ethic is fantastic and often is deserving of player of the match because of her relentless competitiveness and attitude."
She scored once as PUC beat Canadian Mennonite University 15-0, then netted a hat trick in an 8-0 victory over Assiniboine College.
The Pilots have three games left, on Thursday night against the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges, then Saturday against the Brandon University Bobcats and Sunday against the Blazers.
