Janzen named female athlete of the week

Kenadie Janzen helped the Brandon University Bobcats to two important wins on the weekend.

The fifth-year midfielder scored three goals as the Bobcats beat both the Providence University College Pilots and Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges to improve to 3-0-0.

Janzen is the MCAC female athlete of the week.

"Kenadie leads by example both on and off the pitch. A veteran of the program, she is on another level this season, showcasing her explosive power and high soccer IQ," said Bobcats coach Diego Rodriguez Sr.

Janzen scored one goal in the 4-2 win over PUC, then hit the net twice in a 3-0 win over USB.

The Bobcats have a short break before a Wednesday match against the Assiniboine College Cougars.

Next weekend, the Cougars visit the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers on Saturday and Les Rouges on Sunday.

PUC visits USB on Saturday and CMU visits BU on Sunday.
