MVP Black named athlete of the week

Josie Black made the save of the season — and of her life.
With the MCAC women's soccer final on the line, the Brandon University Bobcats goalkeeper stepped up and stopped a game-tying penalty to defeat the Providence University College Pilots 2-1.
Black is the MCAC female athlete of the week.
"Josie delivered an outstanding performance that will be remembered for a long time," said coach Diego Rodriguez.
"With incredible reflexes and unwavering focus, she made several key saves, including a crucial stop on a penalty kick that could have tied the game. That moment not only showcased her skill but also demonstrated her ability to rise to the occasion when the pressure was on."
The Bobcats beat the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges 5-1 in the semifinals beforehand and are now off to CCAA nationals in Squamish, B.C. on Nov. 6-9.
