Week 3 (Sept. 20-25) – 2022 MCAC Soccer Match Previews

Sept. 20 result: Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) Les Rouges 5 Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) Blazers 0

Université de Saint-Boniface (4-0-0) extends their winning streak to four games with a home win over third place Canadian Mennonite University (1-0-3). USB received goals from Stephanie Jones (2), Mylène Chabot, Sara Boissoneault and Marlene Zarychta for their third consecutive shutout this year. Both teams have one game left to be played this weekend.

Sept. 21 result: Brandon University (BU) Bobcats 4 Assiniboine Community College Cougars (ACC) Cougars 0

Second place Brandon University (3-0-1) scored four times with tallies from Kenadie Janzen (2), Keashae Masters and Jocelyn Heald and only three points out of first place heading into the weekend. With the road loss, Assiniboine Community College (0-0-3) is seeking their first win later during week three.

Sept. 24: USB Les Rouges at ACC Cougars – 3:15 pm CT start

This the second game of the week for both teams. In addition, this will the first matchup of the season between both teams in 2022. The defending champs Les Rouges are led by league goal scorer Sara Boissoneault with eight and Stephanie Jones at five. USB is also at number eight in the latest Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) national rankings. The Cougars are led by MCAC Athlete of the Week winner center midfielder Kendra Mansoff who scored the first goal of the season for ACC in week two.

Sept. 24: BU Bobcats at Providence University College (PUC) Pilots – 3:15 pm CT start

This is a rematch of the Sept. 17 contest where the Bobcats won 3-1 at home over Providence University College (1-0-2). The Pilots are in third place and look to snap a two game losing streak and reverse the result of their first encounter. Brandon moves up to number 14 in the latest CCAA national rankings.
