Briana Ehrmantraut back as MCAC women's basketball player of the year
Briana Ehrmantraut found a level no one else in the league could reach this season.
The veteran guard from Canadian Mennonite University lapped the field with 24 points per game while shooting a league-leading 41.8 per cent.
Ehrmantraut also led the Blazers to the #1 seed for the MCAC women's basketball playoffs, earning player of the year by unanimous decision.
"Briana has been a force all year, averaging 24 points per game and leading by example," CMU athletic director Cara Isaak said.
"I'm continuously impressed by her intensity in games and practices. It's hard to show up with that level of drive every day but consistency is what makes her such a standout."
Erhmantraut also finished second in the league with 9.0 rebounds per game.
While she's down to one game, it's the biggest one as the Blazers play for the conference title at Université de Saint-Boniface on Saturday at 6 p.m.
They await the winner of the host Les Rouges and Providence University College Pilots, who beat them in Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action last weekend.
All-conference team:
Anna Pyne - CMU
Adrian Alley - PUC
Kishi Rioferio - PUC

Briana Ehrmantraut - CMU - Player of the year
