Pilots complete men's volleyball three-peat

All Noah Boschman knows in his MCAC career is winning.
The third-year left side helped the Providence University College Pilots complete a men's volleyball three-peat on Saturday.
Boschman was named championship MVP as the Pilots defeated the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers 3-1 at CMU's Loewen Athletic Centre, taking the best-of-three final 2-0.
"It feels good because we deserved to be there and we deserved to win that game," Boschman said. "All the guys put together the best game we could and we pulled it off again so it's rewarding."
The Pilots took Friday's opening match easily, 3-0 without giving up more than 21 points in a set and taking the second 25-13.
Boschman knew CMU would be sharper in the second match though.
"I was expecting it. We were as a team anticipating it, which was acceptable for us," Boschman said.
"We knew they were going to come out swinging and they were going to be desperate. We planned ahead and knew we had to bring our own game if we wanted to be successful."
The Pilots trailed a handful of times throughout the afternoon but dug their way out of deficits and brought their best stuff in crunch time to secure their third straight MCAC title.
"We just take every point at face value. Regardless of whatever the score is, we battle for every point," Boschman said.
The Pilots already knew they were competing in CCAA nationals for the third straight season as hosts. The Blazers will join them in Niverville on March 5-8, along with six of the top college teams from around the country.
The moment they've been waiting for is less than two weeks away.
"We gotta keep our guys healthy for sure," Boschman said. "But not stay complacent in our practice, know what we can do, bring our game and make every minute on the court count."
