Janzen named male athlete of the week

Matthew Janzen has been the answer to Canadian Mennonite University's biggest question.
How would they fill the gap left by two all-conference left sides? With another one playing at an all-star level.
Janzen is the MCAC male athlete of the week.
The transfer from the College of the Rockies of the PacWest conference posted 16 kills and 24 points as the Blazers earned a weekend sweep of the Assiniboine College Cougars on Friday and Saturday.
"Matt has really stepped up his game and has become a very consistent and reliable player now that we are in the thick of the season," said CMU coach Don Dulder.
"All aspects of his game are very good right now; attacking efficiency, serving, and a marked increase in passing accuracy allows our entire offence to flourish. He has become a great team leader and energy guy on the court."
CMU improved to 4-1 and a tie for first place.
The Blazers visit the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges (0-5) this weekend while the Cougars (2-3) host the Providence University College Pilots (4-1).
