Petrie named male athlete of the week

Duncan Petrie waited long enough for another crack at the Providence University College Pilots.
The Canadian Mennonite University Blazer came to play in the first rematch of the 2024 MCAC men's volleyball final, posting 13 kills and a .478 hitting percentage in a five-set win over the defending champions.
Petrie also served three aces.
The senior right side is the MCAC male athlete of the week.
"Duncan has really stepped up his game this season, especially with the loss of some of our other veteran outsides," said Blazers coach Don Dulder.
"He worked hard in the off-season on his rehab and strength work and it has shown big time as a go-to guy this year. Having his consistency on the right side and 'C' ball opens up our whole offence, allowing our setters to spread the ball around and improves everyone's game around him."
The Pilots answered with a 3-0 win the following day, making it a three-way tie atop the league standings at 2-1 with CMU and Assiniboine College.
This weekend, the Pilots host the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges on Friday and Saturday while the Blazers and Cougars have the weekend off.
