Week 3 (Sept. 20-25) – 2022 MCAC Soccer Match Previews

Sept. 20 result: Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) Les Rouges 4 Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) Blazers 2

To begin this week, Université de Saint-Boniface (3-0-1) moved into a tie for first place with the home win. USB scorers were Franck Oumar N'Dia (2), Joseph Zarychta, Irvin Bekhtiari while fourth place Canadian Mennonite University (0-1-3) had Matheus Dos Anjos Aquino and Gjok Prendi find the back of the net. Both teams have one game left to be played this weekend.

Sept. 21 result: Brandon University (BU) Bobcats 5 Assiniboine Community College Cougars (ACC) Cougars 1

In a competitive start to the season, Brandon University (3-0-1) is tied for first and tallied five goals for the second time already in 2022. Goal scores for BU were Camilo Rodriguez, Zach Wood, Matheus Rifini, Morgan Terry and Julien Dizengremel. Christian Buck added a late goal for Assiniboine Community College (0-1-2).

Sept. 24: USB Les Rouges at ACC Cougars – 1 pm CT start

This the second match of the week for both teams and this will the first matchup of the season between both teams in 2022. Les Rouges are led by Franck Oumar N'Dia who is second in league goals with four. USB stays at number nine in the latest CCAA national rankings. The Cougars are seeking to build off their draw last week and have one shutout so far this season.

Sept. 24: BU Bobcats at Providence University College (PUC) Pilots – 1 pm CT start

This is a rematch of the Sept. 17 contest where the Bobcats won 3-1 at home over third place Providence University College (2-0-1). The Pilots are on a one game winning streak while Brandon looks to extend their three game winning streak. BU's Camilo Rodriguez was MCAC Athlete of the Week winner and leads the conference with nine goals so far. Giovanni Benitez Friesen leads PUC with four goals in this season.

Sept. 25: CMU Blazers at PUC Pilots – 3:15 pm CT start

PUC plays their second game in consecutive days while CMU last played on Tuesday. The Blazers would like to reverse the result of their first match where the Pilots won 5-1 on Sept. 10 in the PUC's home opener.
