Manias named MCAC men's futsal player of the year
Top soccer players are used to playing full games but futsal players rarely do.
Theo Manias is the exception. He not only spent the entire 50 minutes of most MCAC games on the court this season, he led the Assiniboine Community College Cougars on both ends of the floor.
Manias is the 2024 MCAC men's futsal player of the year.
"An extremely gifted player who has the ability to play at his best for the full 50 minutes of each game," said Cougars coach Chris McLachlan. "Theo is the undisputed leader of our team and a top player in the MCAC."
While ACC missed the playoffs, which take place this weekend at Brandon University, Manias scored 10 goals and led his team to a pair of hard-earned draws.
In the final four, the Brandon University Bobcats meet the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers on Saturday, then the Providence University College Pilots and Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges square off in the second match.
All-conference team:
Matheus Souza - BU
Joel Umeh - PUC
Franck N'Dia - USB
Victor Hugo - CMU
Theo Manias - ACC - Player of the year
