Blazers repeat as men's basketball champions
The Canadian Mennonite University Blazers were simply dominant when it mattered most.
They scored early and often and defended tough for 40 minutes to beat the Providence University College Pilots 80-36 in the MCAC men's basketball final on Friday to defend their title.
Championship MVP Mekhi Lisan scored a game-high 13 points off the bench for CMU while seven Blazers scored at least seven points.
Player of the year Daniel Cameron added 12 points and 14 rebounds.
The Blazers completed a perfect 9-0 season in MCAC play and avenged a 73-72 loss to the Pilots in last weekend's NIAC final south of the border.
