Pilots Temple stones attackers to win player of the year

Ava Temple 5, Everyone Else Providence Played 5.
The Providence University College Pilots defender put on a season-long clinic on both ends of the pitch this season, leading a near-flawless defensive unit that finished second in goals allowed. She also picked her moments and took advantage of them, netting five goals of her own.
Temple is the MCAC women's soccer player of the year.
"Ava is such a solid player, technically and tactically one of the best players in the league," said Pilots head coach Tory Walker.
"She is a solid competitor and always makes it hard for opponents to score. We have only allowed one goal in open play this year because of Ava's contributions and solid play."
The Pilots (10-2-0) had clean sheets in all but three games, with Temple commanding the defensive third.
The fourth-year forward and her team are off to the semifinals against Canadian Mennonite University at WSF North on Thursday at 12:15 p.m., while Brandon University and Université de Saint-Boniface meet at WSF South.
The final is Friday at WSF North at 1:30 p.m.
