6 Questions With…Tammy Mitchell, CMU Blazers Women’s volleyball, 2nd year right side

Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) Blazers are in second place in the 2021-22 Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) women’s volleyball standings with a 6-3 record heading into the holiday break. The Blazers want to defend their conference title (won in 2019-20) and are scheduled to resume playing on the road versus Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) Les Rouges on Friday, Jan. 28 at 6 pm CT.

QUESTIONS:

1. Your goal for this season…And has it changed now?

Answer: My personal goal for this season is to finish at a higher skill level than I was in the beginning of the season. For a team goal, it is to win our conference and make it to Nationals.

2. How difficult was it to return to conference play after year off due to COVID-19?

Answer: At first, it was difficult just to get the feel of everything after being a year away.

3. Why did you choose volleyball as a sport?

Answer: I chose volleyball as my sport because, it is part of what makes me who I am today.

4. Who is the joker/fun person on your team?

Answer: If it is not me, I would have to say Annika Kornelsen.

5. What are you listening to right now?…and/or pump up music?

Answer: I am currently writing a paper so there is no music present, but if I were to choose it would be Cold Heart the remix version.

6. Best social media/website to follow?

Answer: Instagram would be my best social media to follow.

BONUS: Favourite TV show and/or movie?

Answer: My favourite TV show would be Jane the Virgin and a movie would be the Grinch.
