For the third week of the 2021-22 Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) women’s volleyball season, first year left side Halle Meisner was almost perfect from the outside in leading the Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) Blazers to a match sweep during the week ending Nov. 14, 2021.
The Blazers won in three straight sets over Assiniboine Community College Cougars (ACC) Cougars on Sat., Nov. 13 and Meisner finished with a match-high 11 kills and only one hitting error for an impressive .435 kill efficiency.
In addition, the Moosehorn, MB native added a team-high five service aces plus contributed five digs for the young CMU squad that evened their league record to 2-2 for the season.
CMU’s head coach Jayme Menzies stated, “Halle has explosive strength, a diligent work ethic, and a competitive desire to win. Already in these early days of her first year, her ability to score is turning heads.”
The Science student-athlete at CMU continues her rookie campaign as the Blazers go on the road to play at Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) Les Rouges (4-0) on Friday, November 19 at 6 p.m. CT and then host USB the next day at 6 p.m. CT.
