Two first-half tallies were all SAIT needed to advance at the national tournament, beating Saint-Boniface, 2-0 on Thursday, November 11 in the bronze quarter-final at the 2021 CCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship hosted by Humber College.

In the 12th minute, SAIT forced a turnover, displaying beautiful technical skill in the offensive zone. A quick pass from Jaime McPherson to Jordynn McPherson got the Trojans on the board, beating les Rouges keeper on the right side.

Less than 15 minutes later, All-Canadian Meaghan Wiebe found Emma Ward at the top of the 18-yard box. Ward unleashed a rocket into the top of the corner to extend the Trojans lead.

Erin Mergen made four saves in net for the Trojans, earning the clean sheet and helping SAIT secure a spot in the bronze semifinal round.

The 4imprint Players of the Match were Jaime McPherson from SAIT and Kalyna Demaré from Saint-Boniface.
