CCAA Women’s Soccer Nationals: USB Les Rouges plays first match vs. Dynamiques de Sainte-Foy

RSEQ silver medallist Ste-Foy blanked MCAC champion Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) Les Rouges 3-0 in the final quarter-final match of the night on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the 2021 CCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship hosted by Humber College. 

In the 18th minute, Les Rouges defender Tara Boulanger tackled Ste-Foy’s forward Aurelie Munger in the box giving up a penalty kick. Laurie Champagne stepped up to the mark and converted the penalty, easing the ball into the bottom left corner and beating Les Rouges keeper Daneige Edey.

In the 76th minute a miscommunication between Les Rouges defenders led to an own goal, increasing Ste-Foy’s lead to two.

With time running out, is awarded a free kick in the 83rd minute and Beatrice Larochelle floats the ball right to Edey who deflects it away, only for Magaly Lafond to slam it into the net making, sealing the victory for Ste-Foy, 3-0.
