Head coach Kyle Guenther just announced another top level recruit has committed to the Pilots women’s volleyball team. Annika Ritchot, from Ile-des-Chenes has signed her letter of intent to play this year for the Pilots.
Ritchot brings character and athleticism to the Pilots team this fall having earned the Medal of Excellence from Ecole College Regional Gabrielle-Roy high school and being named to the Equipe Manitoba francophone team in 2020.
Known on the court for her understanding of the game, versatility and powerful jumping ability, Ritchot will help add some great depth to the already strong Pilots team.
“I am very excited to be committing to playing at Providence,” said Ritchot, “My conversation with coach Kyle about what it means to play for this team, the values they hold and the goal of creating a family culture, definitely made it feel like the right fit for me. I can’t wait to build new relationships both on and off the court.”
On her own time Ritchot has been working on gaining her private pilot license. She last played club volleyball for Dynamo Volleyball Club and plans on studying in the Buller School of Business this fall.
Head coach Kyle Guenther shared his excitement by saying, “I am excited to welcome Annika to our team. She is going to be a great fit in our program with her desire to work hard and get the full experience at Providence. Annika plays multiple positions which gives us the ability to be creative with our lineup and see different looks from our team. Her athleticism and well rounded skills will be fun to watch this fall!”
