Pilots add outside hitter for 2021-22 season

Josh Hofer, a 6’3″ outside hitter from St. Andrews, Manitoba, has signed his letter of intent to join the Pilots men’s volleyball team for next 2021-2022 season. Hofer comes to the Pilots graduating from Calvin Christian Collegiate where he played high school volleyball. He further deepened his experience playing for Tsunami Volleyball Club.

Hofer comes to the Pilots with some impressive accolades on his volleyball resume including 2017-2018 AAA JV provincial champions, 2018-2019 AAA JV bronze medalist, 2019-2020 AAA varsity provincial finalists and 3rd place at the 2019 volleyball Canadian nationals.

Hofer commented on his decision to join the Pilots team by saying, “I chose Providence because I think I would have a great time meeting new people, playing on a university volleyball team, and preparing for the future, while in a Christian atmosphere.”

Hofer plans on studying in the Buller School of Business at Providence.

Head coach Cody Quiring shared his excitement by saying, “We are thrilled to add Josh to our squad for this coming Fall. He comes to Providence from a hotbed volleyball program at Calvin Christian Collegiate in Winnipeg, joining now 2nd year, Colby Dyck. Josh brings a natural athleticism and ability to play at both pin positions. His strong arm swing from the baseline and at the net will be a valued asset for the program. We look forward to working with Josh for years to come.”
