Fourth year player Zoé Savoie was a force on offence and defence in the Les Rouges last two games. Savoie connected on 23 kills and kept rallies going with 23 digs in USB’s two wins over the CMU Blazers last weekend.
“She has worked hard on improving her play and she contributes positively in each aspect,” said Les Rouges head coach Evan Turenne.
With the two wins, USB remains undefeated, but these two matches with CMU were their biggest test yet. The Blazers were the first team to take the Les Rouges to a fifth set this season, but in the end, USB came out on top.
Savoie is USB’s captain, a role Turenne said she grew into.
“Zoé has embraced her leadership role on the team,” said Turenne. “She has a strong character and leads by example.”
In her fourth season, Savoie is taking the business administration program at USB.
The Les Rouges finish the first half of their 2019 season on Saturday, when they’re on the road to face the RRC Rebels.
