Blazers left-side, Carter Hofer served up 9 aces in the team’s 3-0 win over the ACC Cougars on Friday and slammed down 29 kills throughout CMU’s two games this weekend.
The third-year player had an attacking efficiency of 40 per cent in Friday’s game and 54 per cent in Saturday’s second straight win over ACC.
“Carter is a tremendous all-around player for us,” said Blazers head coach Don Dulder. “He is our best passer, best attacker and a real leader on our team.”

Hofer is one of the Blazers captains this season and Dulder said he has developed into the go-to guy in the locker room.
When Hofer isn’t leading in the locker room, he is leading by example on the court.
“His game has improved a great deal this year,” said Dulder. “He is very consistent and has developed a very good and consistent jump serve. He sees the floor well and a very intelligent attacker who has all the shots.”
Hofer was a big part of CMU’s weekend sweep over ACC. He had one block and eight digs throughout the weekend.
Hofer is taking science courses at CMU.
The Blazers have gotten off to a hot start and sit in first place in the MCAC with a 6-0 record. The team is back in action on Friday, Nov. 22 when they travel to play the USB Les Rouges.
