Darby Coughlin slammed down 35 kills throughout the weekend and was a force at the net for the Rebels. The first year Rebel defended well with 15 digs in her two games.
With co-captain Taylor Gray not on the roster this season, Chloe Orteza remains captain — but Rebels head coach Dan McGregor said Coughlin is also a leader on the team.
“Darby has led by example in both practices and games this season in her first year with the rebels women’s volleyball team,” said McGregor.
The outside hitter played a big role in the team’s thrilling five-set win over the CMU Blazers on Saturday — leading to their first win of the season.
Coughlin is enrolled in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at RRC.
The Rebels are back on the court on Friday Nov. 15 when they play the PUC Pilots at the RRC Notre Dame Campus.
