Blazers middle Jack Tyrrell was a force at the net, slamming down 15 kills and connecting on 13 blocks during opening weekend.
Tyrrell is in his fourth season and CMU head coach Don Dulder said he sees improvement in Tyrrell’s play already this season.

“He is reading better and as a result he’s blocking better,” said Dulder. “He has improved a great deal in his ability to see the block and hit around it.”
Tyrrell is leading by example on the court but contributes a lot more to the team in his fourth year at CMU.
“Jack has become one of the leaders on our team and it is great to see this as well as his improvement,” said Dulder. “It’s exactly what the team needed with two starters out for an extended period of time.”
The Blazers’ middle is taking the science program at CMU.
The Blazers opened the MCAC regular season with wins over the USB Les Rouges and PUC Pilots. CMU is back in action on Friday, Nov. 8 when they host the RRC Rebels.
