In the 70th minute of the MCAC men’s soccer semi-final match, Travis Buick broke the scoreless tie with a header off of a Kevin Lopez corner. The goal stood as the winning goal in Brandon’s 2-0 win against USB.

Buick had a moment of déjà vu in the 8th minute of the MCAC championship game where he opened the scoring with another corner kick header. The Bobcats went on to win their first championship in program history with a 3-2 win over the PUC Pilots.
Buick played a major role in the Bobcats championship run and was named the MCAC Final Four MVP.
“Travis rose to the occasion, quite literally, climbing for the corner kicks to head the opening goal in both the semi-final and final,” said Bobcats head coach Jesse Roziere.
Roziere said Buick took the futsal season off last year. The Bobcats won the championship and even though Buick was excited for his teammates, he felt a little disappointed he didn’t play.
“He played this weekend to ensure he didn’t miss another banner,” said Roziere. “He scored goals, defended well, and lead the boys to their first outdoor banner in program history.”
Buick is a second-year defender from Flin Flon, Manitoba. He is taking a Bachelor of Science degree at BU.
