Stéphanie Jones’ first half hat trick lead USB past the BU Bobcats in the MCAC women’s soccer semi-final. Jones used her speed to beat the Bobcat defenders, creating scoring opportunities throughout game.
The Les Rouges went on to beat the PUC Pilots 2-0 in the MCAC championship match.
Jones was named the MCAC Final Four MVP for her hat trick in the semi-final and her determination and effort in the final.
“She is a skillful, powerful and determined player that never gives up,” said Les Rouges head coach Justin Légaré. “She’s one of the many reasons USB saw so many successes this season.
Légaré said Jones has dealt with some serious injuries all season and he had monitor her playing time.
“Stéph really impressed me although she was limited, she made the best of her time on the field putting the opposing defenders under pressure with her speed and often putting the ball in the back of the net.”
The Les Rouges finished the regular season with an undefeated record of 9-1-0 and capped their season off by raising the MCAC banner.
Jones is a second year forward taking U1 at Brandon University.
