The CMU Blazers season may have come to an end, but goalkeeper Lydia Balsillie ended on a strong note. Balsillie recorded a shutout on Saturday to secure a 1-0 win over the Bu Bobcats in a must-win game. Balsillie continued her dominance into a tilt with the top-ranked USB Les Rouges, stopping nine of ten shots in a close 1-0 loss.

“Lydia showed incredible mental toughness this weekend by standing tall in goal, allowing only one goal through 19 shots she faced, and denying three breakaways,” said Blazers co-head coach Cara Isaak.
Despite the tough season, Balsillie has been reliable and displayed leadership.
“She showed great character with her positive communication and work ethic and helped motivate her team to an important win over Brandon on Saturday,” said Isaak.
The fourth-year keeper is taking the music program at Canadian Mennonite University.
With the 2019 soccer season finished, the team will look toward the 2020 season and some will prepare for the 2019-20 futsal season.
