Sami Atoui played lockdown defense and was a playmaker in the offensive zone this past weekend for the USB Les Rouges.
“Sami was a force on the defensive end helping his back line allow only one goal in the two victories over the weekend,” said USB head coach Seif Dhaoui.
Atoui was involved in the offensive end as well, generating three passes that led to USB goals
The Les Rouges edged out the BU Bobcats 2-1 in a tight contest and beat the RRC Rebels 5-0 on Sunday to move into first place in the MCAC standings.
The fourth-year player found his stride this weekend and impressed his team.
“Sami had his best weekend of the season so far,” said Eric Lemoine, USB’s athletic director. “He’s dedicated himself to improving as a soccer player and he’s shown he can be a big impact player in the MCAC.”
Atoui is from Liban and is taking the business administration program at USB.
The top-ranked Les Rouges stand with a 5-0-3 record and won’t return to action until Saturday, October 19 when they host the last place ACC Cougars.
