Hasana Church, a third-year midfielder from Flin Flon, Manitoba, had a strong performance in this weekend’s games. The Brandon Bobcats had one win and one loss this past weekend, with Church scoring the lone goal in Sunday’s 1-0 win over the Providence University College Pilots.
Church is enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at Brandon University.
“Hasana is in her third year in the league and has quickly proven to be as dynamic of an attacker as anyone,” said Bobcats head coach Scott Haddow. “Her ability to join the rush and lead on offence is very important to us, but even more important is her leadership by way of how hard she works and shows up every day ready to compete.”

It was an easy decision for the Bobcats to make Church one of the team’s captains this season with the leadership she displays on and off the field.
Brandon lost 3-1 to the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges on Saturday, but Church was one of the Bobcat’s players that pushed the attack in the game. Although they lost, the Les Rouges are 3-0 this season and look to be a top team in the conference.
The Bobcats sit third in the MCAC women’s soccer standings with a 1-0-1 record (3 points). BU will look to carry momentum over from their 1-0 win, as they are on the road to play the ACC Cougars on Saturday, September 21 and the CMU Blazers on Sunday, September 22.
