Winnipeg, MB, August 1, 2019 – The Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the hiring of Kellen Taniguchi as its new Communications Coordinator for the upcoming 2019/20 season.
Kellen has been a prolific writer in local sports media for the past few years working as The Manitoban’s sports reporter and writing game recaps for Bison Sports.
As a second-year Creative Communications student at Red River College, Kellen has chosen to major in journalism and has taken on the role of Sports Editor at The Projector, the college’s online newspaper. Kellen has also completed his degree at The University of Winnipeg as a part of the joint communications program between the schools.
“We’re very excited for someone of Kellen’s caliber to join our staff for the upcoming season,” said Executive Director Bill Wedlake. “Kellen’s excellent writing and storytelling skills will help us further promote the conference and our talented student-athletes.
“We’re looking forward to seeing Kellen join a growing list of successful communications staff who continue to have an impact on the local sports community.”
Kellen will take over the MCAC’s communications effective today as Neil Noonan, the conference’s last Communications Coordinator (2017-19), expands his role with Bison Sports at the University of Manitoba.
