The MCAC will begin the 2019/20 volleyball season on Wednesday, October 30 with the Providence Pilots visiting the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers in a rematch of the 2019 MCAC Men’s Volleyball Championship.
Each Team to Play Opening Weekend
After the opening matches between the Pilots and Blazers on Wednesday night, the Pilots will return home to host the Assiniboine Community College Cougars on Friday and Saturday. Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges will host the Blazers on Friday night and the Red River College Rebels on Saturday to round out the opening weekend.
Throughout the 2019 volleyball regular season, men will step on to the court first with all night games starting at 6:00 PM with the women following at 7:30 PM. Afternoon start times will be at 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM respectively. The playoffs will continue this pattern with different start times.
Women’s Championship Rematch
After the men’s championship rematch takes place opening night, the women’s championship rematch between the Red River College Rebels and CMU Blazers will go down on the second weekend of the season with the Blazers hosting the Rebels on Friday, November 8 at 7:30 PM.
Canadian Mennonite University to Host 2019 Championships
The Canadian Mennonite University Blazers will host the 2019 MCAC Volleyball Championships at the Loewen Athletic Centre this season on February 29 and March 1. The men’s and women’s Final Four will take place Saturday with the men playing at 12:00/4:00 PM and the women at 2:00/6:00 PM. The men’s championship is set for 1:00 PM on Sunday with the women’s championship following at 3:00 PM.
