The MCAC will begin the 2019 soccer season on Saturday, September 7 with the Providence Pilots visiting the men’s and women’s defending champion Canadian Mennonite University Blazers at the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex.
After the opening matches between the Pilots and Blazers on Saturday, the Pilots will return home to host Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges on Sunday, September 8 to round out opening weekend.
On Saturday, September 14, the Red River College Rebels will host the Assiniboine Community College Cougars for their first matches of the season while the Brandon Bobcats will begin their season hosting Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges.
Throughout the 2019 soccer regular season, men will hit the pitch first with all games kicking off at 1:00 PM with the women following at 3:15 PM. The playoffs will continue this pattern with different start times.
On Sunday, September 22 the Brandon University Bobcats will look for revenge as they visit last year’s champion Canadian Mennonite University Blazers for the first time this season. The Blazers defeated the Bobcats 2-0 in the 2018 women’s final and 1-0 in the men’s final to sweep last season’s championships.
Providence to Host 2019 Championships
The Providence Pilots will host the 2019 MCAC Soccer Championships at their own Otterburne Complex in Otterburne, Manitoba this season on October 26/27. The men’s and women’s final four are set for Saturday at 12:00 PM and 2:15 PM respectively with the finals taking place on Sunday at the same times.
