Congratulations to Taylor Goodbranson, fourth-year guard for the Providence Pilots women’s basketball team, who is the female athlete of the week.

Goodbrandson, from Selkirk, MB, had a stellar weekend helping the Pilots secure the 2019 NIAC Championship after defeating Trinity Bible College 73-60 in the final.
She was named to the NIAC All-Conference team, came runner-up in the three-point shootout, and averaged 16.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists over the course of the tournament.
“Taylor is the kind of player you take for granted,” said Pilots head coach Joel Coursey. “When you have a point guard like her, you forget what it’s like before she came around.

“Thinking about her graduating scares me because I know how difficult it will be to replace what she brings to our team,” Coursey continued. “This past championship weekend was a great example of what she can do. At her height, it is truly incredible what she is able to do on a basketball court.”
The Pilots aren’t done yet, as they head down to Dubuque, Iowa this week to compete for the NCCAA II North Region championship and a birth into the national tournament.
