2019 Volleyball All-Conference Awards

Congratulations to the student-athletes on their performance this volleyball season.

Women’s Co-Most Valuable Players

“Ashley has been an important piece of the success that we have had in our program over the past 2 seasons. She leads by example by bringing a competitive intensity to both practices and games. She is continually looking at ways to enhance her skills to be a well-rounded player that can contribute in all facets of the game. Based on her excellent passing, defense and hitting ability Ashley has made a successful transition to playing on the left side, moving from middle where she has played most of her career.”

– Dan McGregor, Rebels head coach

“Jana has been an excellent leader throughout the season. Her passion for the game is contagious among her teammates. She is a strong player on both sides of the game. On the offensive side, she is someone the team looks to and spreads the offense to others. Defensively, Jana’s intensity and drive gives the team energy which makes her valuable to her teammates.”

– Roy Rodriguez, Blazers head coach

Women’s Coach of the Year

“Evan has quickly shown us his passion and knowledge for the sport of volleyball.  His coaching style is highly motivating and has a way of bringing the most out of his athletes.  In his first year, he took over a team that had a last-place finish in 2017-18 and lead them to a 10-6 record with a fairly similar roster.  He’s a perfect fit for our program.”

Men’s Most Valuable Player

”Josh is an exceptional athlete and a first class person. He has a very rare ability to smile, laugh and enjoy himself on the court while still being intense, focused, and perform at a high level. Despite missing the playoffs Josh was named the league MVP, which is a testament to how dominant of a player he is. We wish Josh all the best as he graduates later this year.”

Lindsey Habib, Rebels head coach,

Men’s Coach of the Year

“Guy is truly a player’s coach.  He shares his athletes’ competitive edge and I believe that’s what has fueled the success seen our MVB program over the past few seasons.  Guy challenges his athletes in all aspects of student athlete life and demands a high level of focus and energy at all times.  His passion for volleyball and athlete development is remarkable.’
