Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference 2017-2018 Scholar-Athletes
WINNIPEG, MB, January 9, 2018 – The Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) is proud to announce that during the 2017-18 academic year, 52% of their team’s members achieved the status of Scholar-Athletes.
This honour is awarded to all who student-athletes who achieve a grade point average of 3.0 (B) or better in their academic studies.
The two institutions with the most Scholar-Athletes are Red River College at 62% and Université de Saint-Boniface at 56%.
These achievements are among the highest of any post-secondary conference offering athletic competition in Canada. It proves the young men and women participating in MCAC sports are true student-athletes.
About the MCAC –The Manitoba Colleges Athletic Association (MCAC) is the governing body for intercollegiate athletics in Manitoba. The MCAC consists of the six post-secondary institutions in Manitoba: Assiniboine Community College, Brandon University, Canadian Mennonite University, Providence University College, Red River College, Université de Saint Boniface. These six institutions compete in basketball, futsal, soccer, and volleyball.
