Sami Atoui, Les Rouges third-year winger, has stepped up for his injury-riddled team in the early start to the season after losing multiple starters in their opening game against the CMU Blazers.
“Sami’s play and leadership on and off the field was a key to this past weekend’s two victories,” said USB’s athletic director Eric Lemoine.
He scored his second goal of the season that proved to be the game-winner on Saturday in USB’s 2-1 against the PUC Pilots (2-0-2). Les Rouges now sit in second in the conference at 2-1-2.
“Sami has embraced his leadership role and has clearly had an effect on the young players that will have important roles on our squad,” Lemoine continued.
Les Rouges host the RRC Rebels (2-0-2) at Memorial Park this Saturday, September 29 at 3:15 PM and have a bye on Sunday.
