Makayla Myer, Pilots first-year forward from Surrey, BC, has had a strong start to the 2018 soccer season leading her new team with three goals and to a first-place 2-1-1 record.
“Makayla has been an impact player from game one,” said head coach Tory Walker. “She’s come into our team with confidence and poise and is already making a name for herself.”
Myers scored the game-winning goal in the Pilots 1-0 win over USB Les Rouges on Saturday and generated 10/14 of the team’s shots. Her three goals on the year have her third in the conference in scoring.
“Mak shows up to each practice and each game ready to learn and grow as a player, she is a true joy to coach and watch out on that soccer field.
“Not only is Makayla a great player she is an awesome teammate,” he continued.
The Pilots have back to back games this weekend against the MCAC teams from Brandon. They drive West on Saturday, September 29 to take on the ACC Cougars (1-2-1) at 1:00 PM and host the BU Bobcats on Sunday at 1:00 PM in Otterburne.
