2018-19 MCAC volleyball season to set off Nov. 2

The Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference’s volleyball season will see its first serve on November 2 with both women’s and men’s volleyball schedules being released today.

The Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference’s volleyball season will see its first serve on November 2 with both women’s and men’s volleyball schedules being released today.

Season Openers

The two season-opening doubleheaders will be on Friday, November 2 with the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges visiting the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers and the Assiniboine Community College Cougars visiting the Red River College Rebels. The women will set things off at 6:00 PM with the men following at 7:30 PM. 

Women First

Women teams will take to the court first throughout the entire 2018-19 volleyball season. Most night games will take place at 6:00 PM & 7:30 PM and a majority of the afternoon games will begin at 12:00 PM & 1:30 PM.

Women’s Final Rematch

The rematch of last season’s women’s final between the champion Providence Pilots and Canadian Mennonite University Blazers will be played on Friday, November 30 at 6:00 PM in the Pilots Jubilee Gymnasium. The Pilots pulled out last season’s championship 3-1 (25-19, 25-17, 21-25, 25-10) after leading the conference with 12 total wins on the season.

Men’s Final Rematch

The rematch of last season’s men’s final between champion Canadian Mennonite University Blazers and the Providence Pilots will take place immediately following the women’s final rematch at 7:30 on Friday, November 30. The Blazers made it back-to-back championships defeating the top-ranked Pilots 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-23).

2018-19 Championship Venue

This season’s Final Fours and Championship Finals will be hosted by the Providence Pilots in their Jubilee Gymnasium on February 23-24.
