Defensive stopper Shaelyn Langlois and the Assiniboine Community College women’s futsal team got their second win of the season last weekend, beating hosts Universite de Saint-Boniface 6-5. Langlois was responsible for 3 of the Cougar’s goals, including the go-ahead goal late in the match.
“Shae is an outstanding student athlete. She has a quiet demeanour but a fierce competitiveness” says ACC Athletic Director, Beth Clark.
“Her steady approach to team cohesiveness, defensive strategy and leadership is reflected in the respect her teammates have for her. She scored three goals and ensured the win by scoring in the last minute of play after they (USB) had tied it up a minute earlier”.
A Geographic Information Systems student at ACC, Langlois is a native of Western Manitoba having attended high school at Virden Collegiate Institute.
ACC currently sits in fifth place, one spot out of the Final Fours being held at Providence University College on March 11th and 12th.
