Sitting second in points in the MCAC with a game-in-hand on first-place Red River College, the Universite de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges have proven to be a threat once again this season. Head Coach Justin Legare says first-year defender, Peter Soliman, was pivotal in USB’s Week 4 success.
“He’s played some great soccer so far this season and had his best game of the season last Saturday versus BU”.
Legare was impressed with his defender’s play against a very good Bobcats team who currently sit just three points back from USB.
“BU is well organized, fit, and a hard working team and I warned my team that we would need to raise our level of play. The team, including Peter, responded with our best 90 minutes of the season. We moved the ball well and communicated well and dominated portions of the game.”
The rookie left back who hails from Winnipeg’s Collège Béliveau and also plays for Bonivital Soccer Club, has fit seamlessly into a talented lineup who are looking to defend their 2015 MCAC Championship title later this month.
“In Week 4 Peter helped stop BU’s attack before they could establish any dangerous possession. He’s fast, aggressive and smart, and has the abilities necessary to make smart decisions with the ball and smart tackles when the opponent is near our net.”
Les Rouges see their next conference action this weekend against Providence University College at home.
