Edwards played for Neelin High School in Brandon prior to attending BU and stands out on the pitch with his ability to continually track the play as well as his phenomenal speed. The rest of the MCAC can expect a great deal of the Bobcats’ success this season to stem from Osian Edwards.
The Brandon University Bobcats shouldn’t be too surprised to see Edwards representing the blue and gold for the Athlete of the Week nomination in just the third week. In his third season with Brandon University, the 5’8″ midfielder has been a huge part of each campaign he’s spent with the Bobcats. In Week 3 he lead all scorers with three goals to help lead BU to an 8-0 win over cross-town rival Assiniboine Community College.
This win gives BU the early advantage in the third annual Prowler Cup, a season series between the ACC and BU programs that awards bragging rights to the program who accumulates the most head-to-head wins over the course of the soccer season. Their Week 3 win also gives Edwards and the ‘Cats seven points and sole possession of second place in the MCAC after beating Canadian Mennonite University and drawing with Red River College so far in 2016.
