Riehl put together a huge weekend for the Brandon University Bobcats in the MCAC’s second week, playing seventy minutes per game and finding the scoresheet in a big way on Sunday. Riehl finished the weekend with an assist against Red River College followed by three goals in the ‘Cats’ 7-0 win versus the Canadian Mennonite Univeristy Blazers.
“When you welcome a new player into a team, you hope that they will surprise you – and she certainly did. We knew that she had a great game sense. What surprised us was how efficient she was at making use of her chances” says Head Coach, Rainer Schira.
A 5’3″ midfielder who hails from Keewatin, Ontario, Riehl has also impressed her coach with getting comfortable within her new BU roster.
“We like her great work ethic and positive mindset. She really fits into our team,” says Schira.
The Bobcats have one win and one draw on their MCAC record so far this season and will look to improve that this weekend against the cross-town rival Assiniboine Community College Cougars on Saturday.
