Talia Paetsch named Week 7 Athlete of the Week

Talia Paetsch began the MCAC women’s volleyball season with a bang.
Averaging 16 kills, 12 digs and 5 aces in the first two games of the season, the second year Education student has made a statement that the University of Winnipeg College Wesmen will be making life tough for opposing defenses in 2015-16.

“Talia always establishes herself as a huge presence on the court, not only just with her athletic ability but also with her leadership”, says Wesmen head coach, Tanner Owens.
“She’s a player that reminds our team to always give positive affirmations to themselves and also each other.”

Paetsch and the Wesmen started the season with a 3-2 thriller over Providence University College on October 21st, winning the final set at home 15-10. The Wesmen then went the distance again against Canadian Mennonite University, dropping the first and third sets before winning the fifth 15-9. They then swept Red River College at home on October 30th
“Our team has 9 returning MCAC medalists which has created a well experienced and competitive team”, adds Owens.

Paetsch and the Wesmen look to keep their perfect record rolling against Universite de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges this Saturday, November 7th at Saint-Boniface.
